The fault lies not with the candidates but with the nuclear "industry" and nuclear professional organizations who ought be hawking the virtues and safety records and comparative industrial mortality rates of nuclear energy to the hilt in ads and PSAs, but all we really get from them PR-wise is cricketville. If nuclear-energy's own minders show such a low-key regard and support for their child and careers, why should candidates go out of their way supporting an energy source which is so wrongly labeled with the kiss of death by radiation and meltdowns by unchallenged FUD-mongers to a fretful science-illiterate public? Give the devil his due, the gas and oil industry are getting amply politically and socially rewarded for their massive ads and PSA campaigns pushing gas, oil and even coal no less. PSAs are CHEAP for orgs! Here in NYC we get all kinds for animal rescue and green groups! There's no excuse why there can be any FUD-busting PSAs by nuclear industry/organizations with far deeper pockets. With more exposure and enlightenment you get political attention if not support. Nukes currently hardly have either by lack of PR initiative, ineptness and guts.

James Greenidge
Queens NYjimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02624023124404414596noreply@blogger.com
